About the NICO trademark
For more than 60 years fireworks have been sold under the NICO trademark. It is well-known in Germany and enjoys a very good reputation. In the future, the NICO trademark shall continue standing for high quality safe and innovative fireworks.
Product management and development
NICO Europe GmbH takes on the whole product managment and development of a product range with more than 2,000 items for the NICO Group. Product visions and developments are designed, tested and prepared for approval here. The legal compliance of futre products is discussed and matched in close collaboration with the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). The final implementation of Products with appropriate manufacturers takes place in China.
Production
Manufacturing of our products mostly takes place in Far East. The factories in China commissioned by us have centuries-long experience in fireworks production for all over the globe. Our factories comply with European quality and safety requirements. As a matter of course we attach great importance to fair working and existential conditions in the manufacture of our products. Therefore we as well as most of our manufacturers are members of BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) and strictly comply with the corresponding BSCI Code of Conduct strikt ein. The following points are governed by the BSCI Code of Conduct:
• freedom of association and right to collective bargaining for every employee
• prohibition of discrimination
• adherence to the statutory maximum working hours and holidays
• fair wages and the guarantee of compliance to legal or standard minimum wages
• health and safety at the workplace
• prohibition of child labour, forced and mandatory work, and disciplinary measures
• maintenance of environmental and safety standards
Quality assurance and assessment
Quality assurance and assessment consists of a multi-stage system. First assessment measures already take place in Far East, in the immediate proximity of the production facilities. In China, the Company "ITQS" (International Technical and Quality Services Ltd.) which was audited by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is commissioned with inspecting NICO products during and after manufacturing. Prescribed inspection parameters are examined directly on-site in order to record possible deviations from the approval and to reveal manufacturing defects. Defective items do therefore not even reach the German market.
A second verification of the goods takes place in Germany. NICO Europe has been audited by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) for autonomous quality assessment.
